In this program, we will develop socket management strategies to address anterior and posterior sites. We will work to develop a treatment algorithm to predictably achieve favorable outcomes. This will cover various clinical protocols from socket seal type procedures to immediate implant insertion with guided bone regeneration.
SUMMARY:
This hybrid in-office/online course will focus on short span implant site therapy. The content development will a sequenced approach to build foundations of surgical
excellence. The foundation will be predictable therapy with low complication risk. Case specific therapy will be emphasized.
We will begin with patient and case evaluations to learn to identify case specific risk factors and complication profiles. These analyses will be used to develop perfectible case specific treatment protocols. Surgical foundations will be reviewed in detail to ensure proper flap management and suturing techniques to reduce iatrogenic surgical error.
Step-by-step surgical algorithms will be developed for successful care. Protocols will allow for surgical planning and preparation. Surgical algorithms will be case specific based on pre-surgical and surgical findings. Case specific risk factors for adverse outcomes will be reviewed and adjusted for to predictably provide favorable outcomes. Case evaluations and surgical algorithms will focus anatomical and pathological evaluations. This will allow for better understanding of case specific profiles to allow for case selection and identification of surgical limitations based on surgical experience. These evaluations will focus on soft and hard tissue dimensions and case types.
Implant therapy will be site specific beginning with healed ridges and progressing to immediate insertions and simultaneous insertions with augmentation. We will review indications for simultaneous hard and soft tissue augmentation with implant replacement. Predictable case selection will be developed as part of the assessment and surgical protocols. We will work to develop case selection protocols to reduce complications and adverse outcomes.
Armamentariums will be reviewed to ensure easy of implementations. Surgical supplies will be discussed in depth to ensure an understand of materials and their effect on clinical outcomes. Specific discussions will focus on bone, membrane, suture, and biologic materials. This will focus on indications and limitations of the various available supplies and materials.
