In this program, we will develop socket management strategies to address anterior and posterior sites.  We will work to develop a treatment algorithm to predictably achieve favorable outcomes.  This will cover various clinical protocols from socket seal type procedures to immediate implant insertion with guided bone regeneration.

SUMMARY:

This all day course will cover single site strategies for bone grafting materials and treatments with both lecture and hands-on components.

The lecture series will review various socket presentation and augmentation strategies.  Multiple protocols will be reviewed.  We will develop a treatment algorithm to follow for predictable therapy.

Grafting materials will be reviewed to allow for case specific material selection.  The discussions will also review flapless approaches as well as multiple flap access designs.   Flap discussions will include flap management strategies and suture techniques.

The hands-on components will focus on single site augmentation procedures.  This will utilize both cast models and pig jaws for technique development.  Cast models will be used to develop familiarity with the materials and ideal technical approaches.   Pig jaws will be used to learn flap management strategies as well as multiple augmentation protocols.  These will also allow for suturing practice and experience with various membrane fixation techniques.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

At the completion of the program, participants should be able to:

  • Understand various socket augmentation strategies
  • Complete predictable socket management protocols
  • Identify favorable materials for socket management use
  • Complete basic suturing techniques and flap management
